GC2 - The ability to preserve and multiply moral, cultural, scientific values and achievements of society based on understanding the history and patterns of development of the subject area, its place in the general system of knowledge about the nature of society and technology; ability to use various types of activity to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Professional competences:
FC2. Ability to analyze international processes in various contexts, including political, legal, economic, social, cultural and informational.
FC6. Ability to apply the principles of diplomatic and consular service, diplomatic protocol and etiquette, ability to conduct diplomatic and business correspondence (in Ukrainian and foreign languages).
Learning outcomes: By the end of the study learners are expected to be able to:
• maintain a conversation on familiar study and specialism-related topics, expressing and exchanging opinions and factual information on study-related events;
• demonstrate understanding of clear and simple notices, including details on warning, announcements and instructions in academic and job-related events;
• make arrangements on the telephone in academic or professional environment, including getting connected, leaving and taking messages, provided the interlocutor’s speech is clearly articulated in a generally familiar accent;
• make public presentations on a number of general issues in the political, economic and cultural spheres using appropriate linguistic and non-linguistic means of communication;
• write e-mails for educational purposes conveying simple straightforward information of immediate relevance /close to academic environment and everyday life;
• write forum posts and comments, expressing their own opinion and commenting on other opinions, agreeing/disagreeing on what can be found in social media and virtual learning environment;
• fill in correctly application and registration forms for accommodation and \ or for a conference with an appropriate degree of accuracy and adequacy
Required prior and related subjects: Prerequisites: The level of knowledge A2-B1
Corequisites: Ukranian Language.
Summary of the subject: The program of the study discipline "Foreign language"
developed for students who know the language at a level that corresponds to A2 - B1 according to the CEF (General - European recommendations for learning and teaching modern languages).
As a result of successful study under the program of this course, the level of language proficiency is expected to increase to B1+, which is transitional between the borderline and advanced levels of an independent language user.
The course has a practical orientation, providing students with opportunities to acquire general professional communicative competence in using the English language. Education is carried out by integrating speaking skills and language knowledge within a familiar general thematic and situational context in accordance with a certain academic and professional field of activity of students. Self-education is considered an integral part of this educational course, and special attention in the program is paid to independent work of students.

Topic: Problems of environmental protection: environmental pollution, global warming, international cooperation on global warming, environmental and technogenic disasters.
Topic: Science and technology: technologies of the 20th century, artificial intelligence, the Internet, genetic engineering, nuclear energy, nanotechnology, space exploration.
Assessment methods and criteria: Assessment methods:
- oral and direct questioning;
- questioning in writing;
- random oral questioning;
- presentations during practical classes;
- tests;
- activity assessment;
- evaluation of proposals, original decisions, suggestions, etc.

Критерії оцінювання результатів навчання: Current control: listening, monologic and dialogic speech, reading, writing. Control test.

Порядок та критерії виставляння балів та оцінок: 100-88 points - certified with an “excellent” grade - High level: the student demonstrates an in-depth mastery of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the discipline, systematic knowledge, skills and abilities of their practical application. The mastered knowledge, skills and abilities provide the ability to independently formulate goals and organize learning activities, search and find solutions in non-standard, atypical educational and professional situations. The applicant demonstrates the ability to make generalizations based on critical analysis of factual material, ideas, theories and concepts, to formulate conclusions based on them. His/her activity is based on interest and motivation for self-development, continuous professional development, independent research activities, implemented with the support and guidance of the teacher. 87-71 points - certified with a grade of “good” - Sufficient level: involves mastery of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the discipline at an advanced level, conscious use of knowledge, skills and abilities to reveal the essence of the issue. Possession of a partially structured set of knowledge provides the ability to apply it in familiar educational and professional situations. Aware of the specifics of tasks and learning situations, the student demonstrates the ability to search for and choose their solution according to the given sample, to argue for the use of a particular method of solving the problem. Their activities are based on interest and motivation for self-development and continuous professional development. 70-50 points - certified with a grade of “satisfactory” - Satisfactory level: outlines the mastery of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the discipline at the average level, partial awareness of educational and professional tasks, problems and situations, knowledge of ways to solve typical problems and tasks. The applicant demonstrates an average level of skills and abilities to apply knowledge in practice, and solving problems requires assistance, support from a model. The basis of learning activities is situational and heuristic, dominated by motives of duty, unconscious use of opportunities for self-development. 49-00 points - certified with a grade of “unsatisfactory” - Unsatisfactory level: indicates an elementary mastery of the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the discipline, a general understanding of the content of the educational material, partial use of knowledge, skills and abilities. The basis of learning activities is situational and pragmatic interest.
