Abstract: Olesia Rudkovska, Halyna Ohar (Supervisor). Fire safety assessment of the housing stock of Chernivtsi. Master’s Qualification Thesis. – Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lviv, 2025. The master’s qualification thesis in specialty 263 ?Civil Safety? consists of an introduction, five chapters, conclusions, and a list of references comprising 70 sources. The total volume of the thesis is 119 pages, including 23 tables and 8 figures; the list of references spans several pages. Fire safety of the housing stock is an important component of the civil protection system and is directly related to the preservation of human life and health. Under conditions of aging residential buildings and increasing anthropogenic pressure, the application of a risk-oriented approach based on the analysis of fire statistics and the assessment of individual and social fire risk becomes particularly relevant. Reducing the level of fire hazard in the housing stock is ensured through the implementation of organizational and technical measures and fire protection systems within the framework of civil protection, which is especially important for the city of Chernivtsi with its diverse types of residential development. Purpose of the study: The purpose of the study is a comprehensive assessment of the fire safety level of the housing stock of the city of Chernivtsi and the development of scientifically substantiated organizational and technical measures aimed at reducing individual and social fire risk for the population. Objectives of the study: 1. to analyze the regulatory and legal framework for ensuring fire safety in Ukraine; 2. to determine the main indicators and criteria for assessing fire safety of residential buildings; 3. to study the structure, typology, and technical condition of the housing stock of the city of Chernivtsi; 4. to analyze fire statistics in the residential sector of the city over recent years;5. to assess individual and social fire risk for residents of residential buildings; 6. to substantiate and develop organizational and technical measures to improve fire safety of the housing stock. Object of the study: The housing stock of the city of Chernivtsi as a set of residential buildings of various types, numbers of storeys, and periods of construction. Subject of the study: Fire safety of residential buildings and fire risks arising during their operation. Research methods: The study employs a set of general scientific and special methods, including: analysis and synthesis to generalize theoretical and regulatory provisions in the field of fire safety; statistical and probabilistic-statistical methods for analyzing fire statistics and assessing fire risks; comparative analysis to compare fire hazard levels of different types of buildings; the scenario method to analyze fire development and the impact of hazardous fire factors; economic evaluation methods to determine fire losses and the effectiveness of fire safety measures; graphical and tabular methods for visual presentation of research results.
