Abstract: Petroleum paraffins are important products of deep oil refining and are widely used across various industrial sectors. They represent a mixture of solid saturated hydrocarbons, predominantly of normal structure, containing between 9 and 40 carbon atoms. Owing to their physicochemical properties ? such as high chemical stability, water resistance, thermal stability, and excellent electrical insulating characteristics ? paraffins have found broad application in the electrical, chemical, metallurgical, food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries. The production of petroleum paraffins constitutes a significant area within the comprehensive utilization of crude oil and its fractions. During the processing of heavy distillates and lubricating fractions, feedstock mixtures are formed from which different grades of paraffin are obtained through cooling, crystallization, and solvent extraction. Of particular importance is technical-grade paraffin (Grade T), which is widely used as a raw material in the chemical industry, in candle manufacturing, for paper impregnation, anticorrosion coatings, and other technical applications. The design of a unit for the production of technical-grade petroleum paraffins is a relevant and important task aimed at improving oil-refining technologies, increasing the efficiency of raw material utilization, and meeting industrial demand for high-quality paraffin products. The projected capacity of the unit is 55,000 m?/year of feedstock. The object of design is an industrial installation for the production of solid petroleum paraffins by dewaxing petroleum fractions. The subject of design is the process of obtaining paraffins from lubricating oil fractions. The purpose of the design is to develop a technological project for a unit producing technical-grade petroleum paraffins. Project results include the complete design of a unit for the production of technical-grade petroleum paraffins. A detailed technological calculation of the main process equipment was conducted, forming the basis for the selection of equipment according to standard specifications. Technical and economic justification of the designed unit has been provided, along with the development of its economic evaluation. Keywords: petroleum, lubricating oils, cooling, paraffins
