Abstract: In Ukraine, there is a large number of rolling stock, which is in different technical conditions. And, if its mass with cargo can be calculated or determined by weighing, then the impact on the rails will fluctuate within large limits. And this causes wear of the rails above the norm. The reason for this is precisely the different condition of the rolling stock, especially its running gear. Therefore, determining the load on the rail for railways is necessary. On the other hand, when reforming JSC "Ukrainian Railways", the infrastructure and rolling stock will be represented by different enterprises. Therefore, to determine the tariffs for travel and the operation of rolling stock on the track, it is necessary to know the magnitude of damage from the interaction of the wheel and the rail. This is the second reason for research in this direction. Thus, research and development of methods for determining the load on the rail track from the wheels of rolling stock, taking into account European standards, are timely, and the topic of the work is relevant. The purpose of the study: to increase the efficiency of the use of rolling stock and track, taking into account European standards. Research objectives: • To analyze the work on assessing the actions of rolling stock wheelsets on rails. • To improve the methods for determining the load on the track from rolling stock. • To develop a technology for determining the load on the rail track from rolling stock wheels • To develop recommendations for improving approaches to determining the load on the rail track from rolling stock. The object of the study is the process of interaction of the rolling stock wheel with the rail. The subject of the study is the methods and means of determining the load of the rolling stock wheel on the rails. An analysis of the methods for determining the rolling stock load was performed, according to which two methods are distinguished: weight and volume. The weight method is more accurate. The method for determining the load on the track from rolling stock, which consists of five stages, was improved. The technology of determining weights using static-dynamic wagon scales, which allow measuring the weight of a wagon in statics and when the train is moving up to 10 km/h, is considered.
